Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
What does this term mean? Simply stated Search Engine Optimization or SEO is the programming of a website
so that when potential customers go online to search for a particular service ( but they don't know the company by
name) the website has a chance of being ranked high enough to be found. Be aware that most searches are only
2 pages deep - that is, most people searching for a service do not look beyond page 2. So if your site currently
has rankings in your city lower than # 20 (there are 10 web pages posted on each search page) then you have lost
at least 80 percent of the prospects.
One thing is certain - there is no shortage of people who hold themselves out as experts on this topic. Just
Google "search engine optimization" and you will get over 32 million results! Seems like if it was obvious or easy
to do there would be a lot fewer results. Most websites (old and new) are not SEOed. In other words the sites
are not designed to be easily found when applicable search words are entered. Why is this? Most web designers
either don't know how or they believe that it's outside the scope of their services.

A companion to our SEO service is relatively unique which we have coined Directory Enhancement.
Search engines feature business directories that display the names and contact information of companies whose
services fit the search criteria used by a visitor. They are typically linked to a physical address of the business
establishment. These directories are generally displayed at the top of a page and may list as few as one company
or as many as ten. Being highly ranked on the search engine business directory is as important (perhaps
even more important!) as having a highly ranked web site. The criteria used by search engines for ranking
companies in their directories is as much of a secret as is the algorithms for ranking web sites.
Web-Volution offers this Directory Enhancement service to clients whereby it will update the client's directories in
Google and Yahoo (which together represent about 90 percent of all search engine activity) to be sure the
information is accurate and complete plus we add a number of additional enhancements which taken together
